How We Operate

If you’re considering using our services through one of our nationwide Ismail Foreign Exchange Bureau branches, but you want to know more about how our money transfer works, this guide will help you get started. For further information about our services, or more specific enquiries, get in contact with us directly to find our more.

Making a transfer

If you’d like to make a money transfer using our services, the first step to the process is visiting one of our Sierra Leone branches, with all the details and information you need to make that transfer. When you visit our office, you will be provided with a form to fill out for the sending process, as well as a request for money transfer as required by our services. To complete this process, you will be required to show us a form of Government-issued identification and include these details within your form. Also included should be details of the receiver, including their personal information as well as their country and location.

Depending on the amount of money to be sent, more information may be required at this point to fulfil your transfer. If this is the case, one of our friendly team will talk you through the process in-bank. Once your form has been completed and submitted, it will then undergo further in-house checks to ensure its legitimacy, and you will be issued with a transfer code reference number. This number should be given to the receiver, who can then use that unique code to access their money from one of our many affiliates around the world. Official ID is also required to access funds at the other end.

Once the money transfer has been claimed at your destination of choice, the process is complete – no further requirements for you, or the individual receiving the funds. In many cases, this process can be quick, easy and practical. In few minutes, we can have the process completed for you and the money on its way.

Paying remittances

Alongside more traditional money transfer Sierra Leone services, we also offer a dedicated service for remittance, a popular form of money transfer across West Africa. In comparison to similar services, ours are some of the top options on the market, especially for services to Guinea. We offer remittances to all remote locations, and additional payout locations will soon be available in other countries too for your convenience. We’re unmatched in our remittance services in many areas, something our friendly in-branch staff will be able to talk to you about if you visit us.

When it comes to remittances, we offer a swift, clear and easy process, to allow your money to get where it needs to go as quickly as possible. Our core values and mission means we put our customers first, and for essential transfers like remittances, that’s more vital than ever.
